Thaxted were finally knocked out of the Cup in a fiercely contested match at Finchingfield. Needing maximum points in their group match the Yellows found themselves behind when a weak shot was allowed to squirm past Ben and into the net. Chances were at a premium, however it was a first ever Yellows goal from Hayden that brought parity and what a goal it was.

Hayden had delayed his arrival for a corner and when then ball fell to him just outside the box he unleashed a rocket that found top bins (thats what they call it) without the Keeper even moving. Despite a concerted effort by the Yellows to find a late winner they duly threw bodies forward and Letchworth converted an opportunity on the counter attack with seconds left.
