Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is an award winning debt counselling charity. Saffron Walden CAP centre, run from New Life Church on Shire Hill, supports local people in the Uttlesford area. Nationally we have helped over 45,000 people to find a way out of debt, completely free of charge!

Mediation is intended to help those involved in family breakdown or conflict (e.g. divorcing or separating) to reach their own decisions about the future and to communicate better. You and your ex-partner will meet with a mediator who is there to support and guide your discussions.

Rescu is a local charity set up in 1994 by a group of parents of special needs children determined to make a difference in a rural area with no services available to support them. We are busy raising the necessary funds for Maypole House, a residential facility for Uttlesford children and their carers.

St Clare Hospice is a charity providing specialist care for people living with a terminal or life limiting illnesses in West Essex and East Herts border. We care for patients and their families, providing physical, social, psychological and spiritual support and rely solely on fund-raising & donations.

Support 4 Sight, originally named Saffron Sight, was established in 1994 to give support, help and advice to visually impaired people and their carers. We changed our name in 2007, expanded our geographical boundaries and now cover the whole of West Essex and surrounding areas.

The Saffron Walden Stroke Club offers help to local people who have suffered a stroke; with their rehabilitation and reintroduction into the community. We meet every Tuesday at the Lord Butler Leisure Centre in Peaslands Rd, Saffron Walden at 2pm.
