About Debden RBL

Formed in 1933, the Debden Branch of the Royal British Legion has provided lifelong support for the Armed Forces community including serving men and women, veterans and their families.

The Royal British Legion campaign to improve and help the members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, veterans and their families. We organise the Poppy Appeal and remember the fallen.

The Debden RBL was awarded its 50th Anniversary "Streamer" Pennant in 2008 which now proudly flies from the Branch Standard for all to see. This would have been awarded sooner if not for a short period in between 1957 and 1958 where we were not active.

In the last four years, the Debden branch have been raising their profile and winning several Essex County Trophies and one National RBL award. For three years running, we won the Nigel Bird Trophy for increased membership and the Toby Bruce Award for increased Efficiency.

In 2015 the branch was awarded the Livermore Cup for being the most efficient RBL branch in Essex and then went onto winning the National "Lister Cup" award for being the most efficient RBL branch in the UK which is attached proudly to the Branch Standard.

The Debden branch takes pride in their members, over one hundred of them! Of these, three members hold County Certificates of Appreciation and a further six members hold Branch Certificates of Appreciation.

The branch has a very active social calendar full of events and fundraisers where we enthusiastically raise money for the County Welfare Fund and the annual RBL Poppy Appeal.
