Scouts & Cubs Start 2018 Poppy Collection

The Poppy Appeal commenced in earnest at Carver Barracks in Wimbish with a door-to-door collection around the camp married quarters and nearby Debden Barns by members of the 1st Carver Barracks Scout and Cub Groups. These newly-formed Groups are comprised of children from the service families based at the Barracks with the two Royal Engineer Bomb Disposal Regiments stationed there.

Carver Barracks was better known in WW2 as RAF Debden and the proceeds from the collection are being split between Debden and Saffron Walden Branches RBL. Corporal Stephen Johnson of 33 (EOD) Regiment RE is the Cub Leader and Mr Rory Wilson is the Scout Leader. Debden Branch RBL is in the process of being affiliated with 1st (Carver Barracks) Scout and Cub Groups.
