Pro Update - Feb 2016

February has been a busy and exciting month for Martin and Allan. Back at the start of the month both of the boys played in the China Open qualifiers in Barnsley.

Allan was drawn to play Sam Baird, whilst Martin had what looked like a very tough draw against former World Champion, Mark Williams. The prize for the winners was qualification for the main tournament in Beijing in March.

Both matches turned out to be the snooker equivalent of a “game of two halves”. Allan roared in to a 3-1 lead at the mid-session interval but couldn't sustain his form and ended up losing 5-3.

By contrast Martin was 3-1 down to Williams at the interval but then played brilliantly to reel off four frames on the trot for a 5-3 victory.

Next the boys were down in Cardiff for the Welsh Open. Martin again had a tough draw against Stephen Maguire, but held his nerve to come through 4-3, whilst Allan found the form he has been threatening to produce for some time to thrash highly rated youngster Olly Lines 4-1.

Unfortunately both lads went out in the second round, but their first round victories were further evidence that they are becoming more and more confident on the big stage.

Next up is a PTC in Poland at the end of the month. Check back in to see how both Martin and Allan get on!
