Pro Update - March 2016

Martin had a great time in Beijing last week, winning three matches to reach the last sixteen of the China Open.

Having qualified back in February by defeating former World Champion Mark Williams in Barnsley, Martin went on to defeat up and coming Chinese player, Deng Zhihong, (5-0), Joe Swail (5-2) and world number twenty-three, Matt Selt (5-1).

He finally lost out to Mark King in the last sixteen, in a match that was much closer than the 5-0 scoreline suggests.

It was the first time Martin has reached the last sixteen in a ranking tournament - a great milestone in what has become a very good season for him.

Martin and Allan are now working hard to prepare for the World Championship qualifiers, which start this week in Sheffield. Allan has drawn the Chinese player Xiao Guodong; Martin plays former pro tour amateur, Kuldesh Johal.
