Thaxted Festival
Classical Music Season

Thaxted Festival is delighted to present its new season's programme, featuring a series of concerts run over four weekends  from 23 June to 16 July.

This year’s musicians will provide brilliance, passion and tenderness with an equal variety of styles and idioms across the 15 concerts that make up the 2017 programme.

With its origins in Gustav Holst’s 1916 Whitsun Festival, Thaxted Festival continues to offer a unique musical experience. It attracts the very best of British and international musicians, in genres ranging from orchestral, chamber and vocal music to jazz, folk, big-band and popular standards, from early music to contemporary compositions.

Audiences and performers alike enjoy the superb acoustics and uplifting architecture of Thaxted's spacious Parish Church and appreciate the relaxed, informal atmosphere of our events.

Events for younger audiences, and educational projects with local schools, also form an important part of the Festival's activity.
