78 RPM Concert At Thaxted Church

Thaxted Parish Church plays host to nationally-revered Big Band 78RPM on Sunday, September 7th (7.30pm).

A fantastic musical extravaganza with a proportion of the proceeds going to local sustainable-housing action group Hands Off Thaxted!

Formed in 1990 by band leader and saxophonist, Julian Landymore, 78RPM has now established itself as one of the UK’s top Big Bands.

The seventeen-piece line-up gives an energetic and enthusiastic show, performing a wide range of instrumental music including tunes by Glen Miller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie.

In addition, lead vocals are performed by Thaxted’s very own Adrian Weaver (lead vocalist in soul band Superstition) who performs classics old and new by greats including Frank Sinatra, Nat "King" Cole, Harry Connick Jnr. and Robbie Williams.

But it's not just a question of great music - 78RPM are proper showmen and a joy to behold. And in the stunning venue that is Thaxted Parish Church, this really will be a night to remember!

Tickets cost £15 and are available from Gifted and the TIC in Thaxted and Lankester Antiques & Books in Saffron Walden. Or save yourself the journey and buy online below!
