Haverhill Silver Band
Thaxted Church - 25/10/14

Another great chance to join in the centenary commemorations of the First World War on Saturday, October 25th (7.30pm) as the Haverhill Silver Band performs in the atmospheric Thaxted Parish Church.

Come along and enjoy a wide variety of music from the war era right up to modern times and help raise money for the Royal British Legion in the process.

The Suffolk-based amateur musical group has a heritage that goes back 150 years and is nationally-renowned as a first section brass band.

Having been very much part of the local Haverhill community throughout its history, the Silver Band now performs in concerts and contests across the region.

The Thaxted concert promises a wide variety of musical styles with marches and popular songs of the WW1 era as well as classical

excerpts and more modern band arrangements, all enhanced by the fantastic acoustics of the Parish Church.

Locally-based actor Michael Culkin (Inspector Morse, Garrow’s Law, Downton Abbey) will be introducing the band and performing readings of poetry and prose and there will be wine, soft drinks and a light buffet available (included in ticket price).

As well as receiving money from ticket sales, the British Legion will have a table selling Poppies in this prelude to Remembrance Day.

Tickets cost just £10 (adult) and £7 (concessions - senior and under-16). Simply select your required tickets using the buttons below and buy online using the quick and easy Paypal checkout.

Online Box Office now closed - tickets still available to buy in person from Gifted in Thaxted.
