In a classic game of 2 halves, Debden win away to Thaxted in the local derby on October 4th! The home side started strong to take control but the second half saw the visitors step up a gear and turn the tide. Thaxted never gave up but were unable to come back following 2 late goals from Debden.

Thaxted went down to their first defeat of the season at the hands of high flying Cherry Hinton on Saturday, September 27th. Despite a valiant effort, the under-strength home side could not hold off the determined attackers but managed a competitive game they more than played their part in.

5 long years have passed since Thaxted Rangers have progressed beyond the first round of the Creake Charity Shield and they faced an on-form Isleham United for this year's opening game. An ominous start, impressive middle and gallantly defended finish saw the home side advance.

After last week’s gripping 4-4 draw with Gt Shelford, you would have thought that finale could not be topped. However, those at the Rec on Saturday, 13th September will tell you otherwise. The home side once again came from behind to a stylish finish, the winning goal scored within the last 5 minutes!

What a stonking start to the brand new season for the Yellows! A crunching 6-2 victory against Notley, with a magnificent double hat-trick from new signing, striker Edward – what better way to kick off their first eleven-a-side competitive fixture? Let's hope the boys can take this high form!

It was a topsy-turvy affair up at the Rec on Saturday, 6th September for Thaxted's first home-game of the season. It was always going to be tough against Shelford, who finished strongly last season, winning their last 5 games. The 4-all draw, however, marks a solid start to Thaxted's campaign.
