September, with the peloton arriving at the Menin Gate Memorial in time to lay a wreath at the Last Post Ceremony.

A physical challenge and definitely a case of “physician – heal thyself” (and everyone else!) afterwards, we imagine!

There will be 34 riders in total attempting the arduous voyage - including 3 members currently serving at Carver Barracks in Wimbish, keen to show their support for servicemen past and present.

Jon will be representing the Great Dunmow Round Table whose nominated charity for the event is the British Limbless Ex Service Mens Association (BLESMA).

They are aiming to raise the huge sum of £40,000 and everyone can get involved by sponsoring their efforts.

Simply go to Jon’s MyDonate page to do your part for this fantastic charity event and make sure you check back with the Trumpet later in the year, when we will have an after-report and photos from the Dunmow – Ypres Charity Challenge.
